Here are 4 MOTH workers weeding the Heritage Asparagus patch near the orchard. This patch was established by Mary Cunningham in the 1890s. She brought some cuttings down from her father's home Riversdale in Goulburn. It still produces beautiful asparagus each spring!

Last weekend, guests from Binalong, Yass, Goulburn, Queanbeyan, and beyond flocked to Tuggeranong Homestead for a night filled with intrigue, laughter, and a bit of sleuthing. 🍸🔍
Hosted by the Odyssey Theatre Company the Murder Mystery Night was an absolute hit! With canapés and drinks flowing throughout the evening, participants dressed the part and dove headfirst into the thrilling plot. Secrets were spilled at the bar, and everyone was in on the action as they worked to uncover the "who, what, when, and how" of the mystery. The vibe was electric, and the laughter was endless!

Introducing Climate-Resilient Cattle in Canberra
A big welcome to our newest arrivals! Midnight, a black Nguni cross Senepol bull calf, was born in the last 24 hours. Magpie, a spotted Nguni cross Senepol bull calf, arrived a couple of days ago. We're excited to share this news, even though we're still settling in.
Nguni cattle derive their name from the Nguni people of Africa. With 7,000 years of natural selection genetics, this ancient breed offers a solution to sustainable cattle farming. Nguni cattle are economically and environmentally sustainable, making them a promising option for our climate change future.
The Senepol from the Caribbean were naturally selected for their excellent heat resistance, hardiness, and tender meat quality. These animals can easily handle extreme weather conditions. With their efficient feed conversion rate, Senepol cattle convert food into weight gain more effectively, resulting in cost savings for farmers.
Both breeds have incredible foraging capabilities and a docile temperament, making them very easy to manage. They are also highly resistant to internal and external parasites.
